New Starwood Vacation Resort in Maui Now on Hold

July 9, 2008

Starwood Vacation Resorts recently announced plans to develop their third timeshare resort at North beach on Ka’anapali, in Maui.

Westin Nanea Ka’anapali Ocean resort Villas will have 390 condominium units. It will consist of one, two and three bedroom units. Mostly two bedrooms and no lockouts.

Expected to open in fall of 2010. It will be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified, which is a rating system for ‘green’ buildings that reduce energy in cooling ,heating and lighting.

Starwood recently announced this development is now on hold. This is most likely due to slower economic times and construction financing issues.
